It has been a busy summer for all involved at Girvan FC.
The park is looking in great condition, there have been some alterations, fresh paint and two new containers have arrived ready to be kitted out.
Dawn Bell has been doing great work on social media making our supporters aware of our signings as the squad begins to take shape for next season.
The intention is to operate a squad number system so the players will be battling it out to secure their favourite number.
To date we have resigned the majority of last years squad. This has not been so easy as our players have been approached by our competitors, some from the Premier League. But Girvan FC are a good club, run by good people and players gravitate to that.
Both Ally McInnes and Nathan Sloan have returned to compete for the goalkeepers jersey. At the tail end of last season they were well protected by Jo Maxwell, Michael Mossie, Nicky Warren and Dean Marshall who have all signed up for another season.
Kieron Balfour was excellent for us last season and he is now joined in the midfield by Antonio Sisi, Josh Sloan, Sean Milarvie and Lee McClymont.
Up top we have our captain Craig Harvey, joined by both Steven Currie and Andy Reid.
The manager is aiming to have a squad of 18/19 players so with pre-season starting this Saturday players can be invited in as we aim to strengthen the squad further.
Also our Physio Alex Bell is taking over the Goalkeeper coaching role bringing his experience and qualifications to benefit both Ally and Nathan.
We have arranged 5 pre season friendlies and will announce the dates of these matches when we have clearance from our government.
We are shaping up well just need to complete the squad in the coming weeks so we will keep you updated.
