The sudden end to last season left us all a bit bemused so we now wait for announcements as to when we can start training and playing again.

As usually happens in every close season players move on and new faces come in to fill the spaces.

So far we have been notified by Robert Love that he has been offered and accepted the position of Player/ Assistant Manager at Annbank United FC. An excellent player and person who will be missed at Girvan but we of course wish him all the best.

Adam Caldwell, last season’s ‘Players Player of the Year’, has joined Kilwinning Rangers FC in the Premiership, a great move for the young man and again we wish him all the best and we are sure he will do well.

Alex Bell has moved to another Premiership club Hurlford United. A fantastic move for Alex, a lad who has huge potential, and we are sure he will do well.

Finally Callum Davidson has moved back to his former club Bonnyton Thistle who are based in his home town of Kilmarnock. Callum always wanted a shot at the Premiership and this will give him the opportunity. A good lad and we wish him all the best.

Three of the players leaving are moving into the Premiership which is great reflection on the quality of player we have attracted at Girvan. They join other former players such as Michael Reilly at Irvine Meadow, Stevie McCreadie at Troon Juniors, Jack McDowall at Auchinleck Talbot and Gregory Ferry at Cumnock.

As much as players have used us as a stepping stone to the top league we hope to build again a winning mentality at Hamilton Park and target a return to the top division.
